F H Parkes (1912 - 60)

Frederick Henry Parkes was born on 18 Mar 1912 in Brentford, Middlesex, to Frederick James Parkes, an electrical engineer, and Grace Lile (nee White). By 1939 the family had moved to Paignton in Devon. He was a Branch Manager at an Estate Agents and in 1948 he married Evelyn Maude (1904-94), the daughter of Thomas Thorstensen the hymn writer. They lived in Brixham, Devon until his death in Brixham Hospital on 15 Aug 1960 at the relatively young age of 48. He is buried in the churchyard at St Mary's Church, Upper Brixham,

He is not to be confused with Fred Parks of Bristol, a well-known ministering brother.
